Ich gebe gerne zu, dass dieser Blog etwas anders ausfällt, als sonst. Durch einen Thread im deutschen Forum "Princess im Vergleich zu Celebrity" werden viele Aspekte hier im Blog anders betrachtet als sonst - ja ich gebe zu: viel härter und strenger. Ich gehe sogar weiter: vielleicht auch unfairer. Aber wer "Modern Luxury" bewirbt und ziemlich weit oben im Ranking von Douglas Ward steht, muss damit rechnen, dass die Messlatte höher hängt, als bei anderen. Hinzu kommen eigene Erfahrungen und mit jeder Kreuzfahrt steigt der Anspruch. Wer von sich behauptet, dass seine Ansprüche von Kreuzfahrt zu Kreuzfahrt sinken, der lügt! Daher sehe ich meine Beobachtungen im Vergleich zu Princess, Holland America, die beide in der gleichen Liga spielen und aufgrund der Erfahrungen jetzt an Bord der CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM sogar an NCL und einigen anderen Schiffen, im Bereich 4*/4*+, die ich persönlich kenne. Meine persönlichen Erwartungen von jedem Schiff, das mehr als 1.495 Punkte hat, sind höher. Die 4*-Schiffe untereinander sollten theoretisch vergleichbar sein. Und auch wenn es Hardware-Unterschiede innerhalb der Flotte gibt, erwarte ich eine homogene Software innerhalb der Gesellschaft. Unsere Erfahrungen beziehen sich auf folgende Schiffe in der Tabelle. Und wir kennen sie nicht nur vom Angucken.



I must admit: this blog is different to the others. Due to a thread in the German forum "Princess compared to Celebrity" many aspects of this cruise was attended different - I must say: much more harder and tighter - and maybe I need to say: more unfair than usual. But who is advertising "Modern Luxury" and is rewarded by Douglas Ward at the very top level need to excpect that the bar is raised much more higher than with others. Additionally we have few experiences of our own and with every additional cruise our requirements rises and rises. Who said that his requirements drops from cruise to cruise is lying! So I see my observations compared to our experience with Princess, Holland America as both of them are playing int he same league and due to our current experiences on CEEBRTIY MILLENNIUM I would even like to compare with NCL and other ships which we know personally and which are rated as 4*/4*+-ships. My personal expections on ships which has more than 1,495 points are higher. In theory all 4*-ships should be same in theory. Even you have differences within the hardware of a fleet, the software should be the same within a company. Our experiences are taken from the ships of this spreadsheet. And we know them not just by seeing.

First of all for all X-Fanatics who do not know and love anything else but X: Nice product - it was "o.k." - increasable. Within their standards (Royal-Caribbean-Group) they offered everything for sure. So everything was "o.k.". For all others who are used to have a different standard and wish to have a better X: maybe you can get for an equal amount or for a little more a lot more or you should ask for a different standard. Compared to Princess my personal experience on Celebrity is disappointing. Compared to Holland America it was very disappointing. Honestly spoken compared to Norwegian (who are playing in a total different league) many were about same or better. So I will explain many details later in the blogs and maybe you will understand that I am expecting special experiences and higher standards on my vacations and both of them I did not get. Most of us have to work very hard to afford such a vacation. So we deserve the very best when we are on vacation. So many things - but not all - on CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM were somehow disappointing - even the whole vacation was a full success. But here the cruise was not the target but the mean of transport. P.S.: if you have higher expectations on X it might be because of the communication of the X-Fanatics...



Daher mal für alle X-Fanatiker, die nichts anderes als X kennen und lieben: Nettes Produkt - es war "in Ordnung" - steigerungsfähig. Im Rahmen ihres Standards (Royal-Caribbean-Gruppe) haben sie sicherlich alles geboten. Daher war alles "in Ordnung". Für alle anderen, die wie wir einen anderen Standard gewohnt sind oder sich eine bessere X wünschen: Vielleicht bekommt man für die vergleichbare Summe und nur ein klein wenig mehr, sehr viel mehr geboten oder man sollte bei X einen anderen Standard anfordern. In der Relation zu Princess fand ich persönlich Celebrity enttäuschend. Im Vergleich zu Holland America fand ich es sogar sehr enttäuschend. Und wenn ich ganz ehrlich sein soll: vieles ist selbst bei NCL genauso gut bzw. besser, aber die spielen eigentlich in einer ganz anderen Liga! Im Blog gehe ich dann auch auf die Details ein und vielleicht versteht man dann auch, dass ich im Urlaub besondere Erlebnisse und höhere Standards erwarte, die ich nicht bekommen habe. Die meisten von uns arbeiten sehr hart für ihr Geld, um sich so einen Urlaub zu leisten. Dafür haben wir dann auch das Beste verdient, wenn wir in den Urlaub fahren. Und deswegen war vieles - nicht alles - auf der CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM doch irgendwie enttäuschend, auch wenn die Gesamtreise ein voller Erfolg war. Nur in dem Fall war die Kreuzfahrt nicht das Ziel, sondern der Weg. Übrigens: wenn man höhere Erwartungen hat, dann liegt es u. U. an der Kommunikation der X-Fanatiker...
