Es geht in das SB-Restaurant Oceanview Café.



Let us see the self-service-restaurant Oceanview Café.

You are requested not to take anything from the restaurant. But nobody took care.



Man wird gebeten nichts aus dem Restaurant mitzunehmen. Aber daran hält sich keiner.

Gut gefällt mir, dass es hier auch ein wenig Kunst gibt.



It was nice to have here some art too.

When I came nothing was switched for breakfast.



Als ich komme ist noch nichts auf Frühstück umgestellt.

So finden sich noch die Schilder für die Pizza-Ecke vom Vorabend.



So you still find the signs from the last night at the pizza corner.

You could notice that they had norovirus-alert. In front of all beverage outlet you had tables so nobody could help himself.



Man merkt aber, dass Norovirus-Alarm besteht. Vor allen Getränkeausgabestationen sind Tische aufgebaut, damit sich niemand selbst bedienen kann.

Getränke gibt es rund um die Uhr.



You could have beverages around the clock.

At the beverage stations you had also the cereals. But only the classical sorts of Kellog's.



An den Getränkestationen gibt es auch die Cerealien. Aber alles klassische Kellog's-Sorten.

Es gibt zwar noch eine Müsli-Station, aber das ist wie bei allen Gesellschaften auch: ein viel zu überzuckertes angemachtes Müsli nach amerikanischem Geschmack.



You had also a muesli-station but like with all companies: an over-sugared prepared muesli American flavour.

Here they had the soy milk Christine need. But she said it was not tasty at all.



Hier gibt es auch die Soja-Milch, die Christine braucht. Aber sie sagt, dass sie nicht schmeckt.

Alles zieht sich bis zum Heck durch.

Ich brauche erst mal einen Eistee.



First I need to have an iced tea.

Plenty of fresh fruits.



Viel frisches Obst.

Aber es fehlt der Kick - irgendwie fehlen so exotische Früchte. Wir sind ja auf einer Asien-Kreuzfahrt - da sollte die Beschaffung exotischer Früchte - insbesondere Drachenfrüchte/Pittahaya - keine besondere Herausforderung darstellen.



Somehow the kick was missing - somehow you did not have any exotic fruits. We were on an Asian itinerary - so the purchase of exotic fruits should not be a big challenge - like some dragon fruits.



Für Allergiker wird auf das Angebot des glutenfreien Brotes hingewiesen.



For allergic persons they attracted the attention to their offer of gluten-free bread.





And they had my beloved brioches.



Und es gab sogar meine geliebten Brioches.

Ein Grund nochmals früh hinzugehen: Ich muss mal gucken, was meine Eltern so brauchen. Mein Vater braucht wie üblich sein Omelette.



One reason to show up early: I need to see if my parents need something. My father need his daily omelette.

Everything he need was there.



Ist wohl alles dabei, was er so braucht.

Und es wird aus frischen Eiern gemacht.



It was made of fresh eggs.





As long as he had his omelette and a nice table with a nice view he was always happy.



Solange er sein Omelette hat und einen schönen Platz zum Rausgucken ist er ganz glücklich....

Für das Herz eines Deutschen gibt es eine kleine Wurst- und Käseauswahl.



For the German guests they had a small selection of cold cut and cheese.

The usual egg dishes.



Die üblichen Eiergerichte.

Normalerweise ist alles gespiegelt. Nur hier gab es auf der Backbordseite eine Art Kasseler-Braten.



Normally everything was mirrored. But on the portside you could get some kind of smoked pork roast.

And on the starboard side you could get a ham. But there was no change until the end of the voyage.



Und auf der Steuerbordseite den Schinken. Aber das änderte sich auch nicht mehr bis zum Ende der Fahrt.

Ich muss mal Angela an Bord schicken, die mal dem Koch beibringt, wie man eine gute Frittata macht... das ist jedoch eher eine Quiche...



I need to send Angela (Italian Mama) on this ship to show the cook how a good frittata should be made... looked more like a quiche...

Then we found the standard offer like compote etc.



Dann gibt es noch die üblichen Verdächtigen: Kompott usw.

French Toast (Armer Ritter), Pfannkuchen und Waffeln.

And they made a Egg Benedict station from the former pizza station.



Und aus der Pizza-Theke wurde dann eine Egg Benedict Station.

Sechs verschiedene Sorten.



Six different types.

I did not understand the sides for the egg benedicts.



Nur diese Beilagen zu den Eiern Benedict werde ich nicht verstehen.

Carolyn meint immer, dass man Egg Benedict nicht vorbereiten kann und immer nur frisch zubereitet werden können. Die sind hier eindeutig schon vorproduziert.



Carolyn said always that you cannot pre-cook egg benedicts and you had to prepare them freshly. But those were pre-cooked.

They even had an Asian breakfast corner with Congee.



Es gab sogar eine asiatische Frühstücksecke mit Congee.

Und das waren die möglichen Einlagen.



And those were the possilbe trimmings.

Exactly the right for me.



Das richtige für mich.

Und ich bringe meinem Vater auch eine Auswahl von der asiatischen Ecke mit.



I got something for my father too from the Asian corner.

Nice intention, but... I should see a Tupperware-party in Hong Kong and buy all stock of the all dumplings to take onboard. I think that this might be a very good buisness. Those were so dry and solid and did not taste good either. Someone told me that the cook was killed by those dumplings... but that was not me... few days later they did not offer them anymore... and you start to consider if it was because the cook was cooking so bad.



Gut gemeint, aber... wäre ich bloß in Hongkong noch zu einer Tupperparty gegangen und hätte ich bloß am Vorabend die ganzen Vorräten an Teigtaschen aufgekauft und an Bord gebracht. Ich hätte bestimmt ein sehr gutes Geschäft machen können. Die waren so hart und trocken und schmeckten leider gar nicht. Angeblich wäre damit der Koch erschlagen worden... ich war es aber nicht... nur wenige Tage später waren sie nicht mehr im Angebot... und man macht sich ja schon seine Gedanken, ob es daran lag, dass der Koch so schlecht gekocht hat.

An der Getränkebar gibt es morgens nur Wasser und frisch gepresster Orangensaft, den ich auch über meine Getränkepaket bekommen kann.



At the beverage outlet you could get water and freshly squeezed orange juice which was included in my beverage package.

But I cannot get more than beverage at one time, like a water and an orange juice.



Nur ich bekomme nichts gleichzeitig, z. B. ein Wasser und einen Saft.

Es wird darauf bestanden, dass man frühestens in 10 Minuten erst kommen darf. So wird es nichts mit meinem Plan eine Schorle sofort zu mischen, weil ich im Moment noch kein Wasser bekomme. Ob das in den Flaschen wirklich frischgepresster Orangensaft ist???



They insisted that your return after at least 10 minutes. So I had to give up my plans to mix a spritzer because you cannot get any water right now. I am wondering if the in the bottle would be real freshly squeezed orange juice???

Washy-Washy-Man Dexter had the order to make you happy in the morning. He sang to every women. I thought it was discrimination when he did not sing to me. I was sure that he will have black eye until the end of the voyage... I was sure that any one husband would beat him when his wife would say: "You never sing to me so beautiful like Dexter did every morning...".



Washy-Washy-Mann Dexter sorgt für die richtige Aufmunterung am Morgen. Er singt jede Frau an. Dass ich nicht angesungen werde empfinde ich als Diskriminierung. Ich denke mal: bis zum Ende der Fahrt hat er bestimmt ein blaues Auge... Irgendein Ehemann wird bestimmt ausflippen, wenn die Ehefrau sagt: "So schön wie Dexter singst du mich nie an...".

Ein paar Bilder von der CELEBRITY EQUINOX 2010 vom Spa Café. Es gab ganz tolles gesundes Frühstück in einer vielfältigen Auswahl.



Few pictures from the SpaCafé on CELEBRITY EQUINOX 2010. You had there a great breakfast with a wonderful selection.

Very nice pastries which were very yummy. Even very hearty. Then Bruno had everything there to compile a healthy unsweetened muesli.



Ganz tolles gesundes Gebäck, das richtig lecker war. Auch herzhaftes Gebäck. Hier war alles für Bruno da, um sich ein gesundes ungesüßtes Müsli zusammenzumischen.

Man bekam auch warme Gerichte, auch wenn ein Omelette aus Eiweiß nicht so richtig lecker war, aber es gab ein warmes Angebot. Sowohl morgens als auch mittags.



You could also get some hot dishes even an omelette made of egg white only was not really yummy but you had a selection of hot meals. For breakfast and for lunch.

Also hard-boiled eggs were available. A true healthy and yummy option compared tot he regular breakfast offer.



Es gab dort auch hart-gekochte Eier. Eine richtig gesunde und leckere Alternative zum normalen Frühstücksangebot.

2014 auf der CELEBRTIY MILLENNIUM: Viele Sachen gibt es nur noch gegen Zuzahlung: Smoothies und Joghurtparfaits. Nur noch das bisschen Obst und die paar Mini-Muffins sind kostenlos. Warme Sachen gibt es gar nicht mehr. Schade. Richtig schade. Das war ein tolles Angebot, das es in der Form auch bei den anderen nicht gab und Celebrity einzigartig machte.



2014 on CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM: You get many things only against extra payment: Smoothies and yoghurt parfaits. Only some few fruits and few mini-muffins were still free. No more hot dishes. Sad. Very sad. This was such a great offer which other companies did not have and it made Celebrity special and unique.
