Seetag/Day at Sea 2.1 auf der/on CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM

Nach wenigen Stunden Schlaf sieht die Welt ganz anders aus. Der Jetlag lässt mich nicht schlafen, so nutze ich die Gelegenheit das Schiff für mich zu entdecken. Von oben geht es nach unten. Und ganz oben ist das Zuzahlrestaurant QSINE.



After sleeping few hours the world looked totally different. My jetlag did not allow me to sleep anymore and so I used the occassion to discover the ship for me. So started from the top to the bottom. Right at the top you find the alternative dining venue QSINE.

There are ships which I call "sexy". One of my personal criteria is the chance to take great pictures in the night time. And so I must say that I think that CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM appeared very sexy to me.



Es gibt Schiffe, die ich "sexy" nenne. Mein persönliches Kriterium, wie ich sie nachts fotografieren kann. Und da muss ich sagen, dass ich die CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM als äußerst sexy empfinde.

So laufe ich mal zunächst ein wenig über das Pooldeck.



So I walked a little over the pooldeck.





I was surprised to see this kind of sun chairs: do they want to compete to MSC and NCL?



Überrascht bin ich über die Sonnenliegen: will man eher mit MSC und NCL konkurrieren?



Here you find the towels for the sun chairs. You can grab as much as you want. And if you need some for your personal balcony, you can help yourself here.



Hier gibt es die Handtücher für die Liegen. Man kann sich beliebig viele holen. Auch wenn man welche für seinen persönlichen Balkon braucht: hier bedient man sich selbst.



And here they had wonderful wooden sunbeds.



Und hier gibt es schöne Holzsonnenliegen.

Mit entsprechenden Hinweisen...



And you find some friendly advises.

So nobody should block just the sun chairs.



So soll keiner einfach die Liegen blockieren.

Celebrity nimmt ja für sich in Anspruch in der Oberliga mitzuspielen... Deswegen nur eine Nackenauflage... Man darf sich aber so viele Handtücher nehmen, wie man will, damit man es bequem hat.



Celebrity made damand for himself to play in a superior league... That is why you only had a pillow for your neck... But you may take as many towels as you like to have it more comfortable.

Just checking how it was on ISLAND PRINCESS which was rated worse than CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM by Douglas Ward it looked that way.



Guckt man mal auf die ISLAND PRINCESS, die ja schlechter von Douglas Ward bewertet wird, als die CELEBRITY MILLENNIUM, sieht es so aus.

Und hat man noch weniger Punkte und noch weniger Sterne wie auf der RYNDAM, sieht die Sache so aus: Richtig tolle Holzliegestühle mit tollen Auflagen zum Entspannen.



And if you have less points and less stars like on RYNDAM it looked that way. Great wooden sun chairs with wonderful mats to relax.

Anything else on the pooldeck made a great appearance to me.



Ansonsten macht das Pooldeck einen tollen Eindruck.

Einer der Gründe, dass ich mir ein Premium-Getränkepaket gebucht habe: VitaminWater. Gab es leider nur am Pooldeck. Daher zeitlich stark eingeschränkt.



One of the reasons why we booked the Premium-Beverage Package: VitaminWater. But you could only get on the pool deck. So only very limited by time.

There was a second bar on deck 10 at the aft. Here wonderful music was played.



Es gab aber noch eine 2. Bar auf Deck 10 am Heck. Hier wurde heute schöne Musik gespielt.

Und hier am Heck gab es eine weitere Sorte. Also nur zwei Sorten und an zwei unterschiedlichen Bars.



And here at the aft you get another flavor. So two flavors on two different bars only.

On the pool deck also some events were offered during the daytime which reminded me more to the level of Carnival. Maybe I should observe Celebrity the last four years with more care. But I liked Princess and especially Holland America so great that I had no time to do so.



Und am Pooldeck wird dann auch tagsüber ein Programm angeboten, das dem Niveau von Carnival entspricht. Ich hätte mich vielleicht die letzten vier Jahre doch intensiver mit Celebrity befassen sollen. Aber dafür fand ich Princess und vor allem Holland America so toll, dass mir dazu die Zeit fehlte.

Während meines nächtlichen Rundgangs hatte ich ein Problem: durch die Schiebetür kam ich zwar raus, aber nicht wieder rein, weil der Winddruck so hoch war.



During my night walk I had one problem: I could get out through the sliding door but not again back inside because the wind pressure was too high.

But I had luck to find soon another door so I could get in again.



Zum Glück hatte ich bald aber eine andere Tür gefunden, durch die ich wieder rein konnte.

Nur im Moment war es so windig, dass die Schwingtüren gar nicht richtig schlossen. Mein Vater erzählt mir, dass er auf der Flucht vor den Kommunisten nach Taiwan als Bürgerkriegsflüchtling als kleiner Junge die Passage hier in sehr lebhafter Erinnerung hatte. Nur damals eben nicht so bequem wie heute...



But in the moment it was so windy that the swinging door could not be closed again. My father later told me that when he escaped from the Communists to Taiwan the passage was very vivid and bumpy in his mind when he was a refuguee of the Civil War as little boys. But it was not as comfortable as today...

What I liked very much were the high number of art work all over the stairways and in the aisles.



Was mir sehr gut auf dem Schiff gefällt, sind die vielen Kunstwerke in den Treppenhäusern und Gängen.

Von außen gucke ich mal in die Kinderbetreuung rein.



I was checking from outside the kids' care.

Because it was a family vacation the family provided the kids' care. The good was that we were a party of ten of three generation and so you could share the caretaking of the kids.



Weil es ein Familienurlaub ist, wird die Betreuung auch durch die Familie gestellt. Der Vorteil, wenn man drei Generationen mit zehn Personen dabei hat, die sich die Kinderbetreuung teilen.

Direkt daneben ist die Cosmos Lounge, die auch einen tollen Eindruck macht. Oft ist ja der Blick nach vorne "verbaut", aber hier gibt es ihn noch.



Just next you find Cosmos Lounge which made a great appearance to me. You had nowadays that the view to the front is obstructed but here you still had it.

Back down on deck 10. Here you find the burger-outlet. So far it was not a part of any fast food restaurant chain.



Es geht wieder runter auf Deck 10. Dort befindet sich die "Burger-Bude". Bisher noch nicht an einer Restaurantkette angeschlossen.

Nur das Angebot erscheint mir sehr gering.



But the offer looked somehow quite small.

On ROYAL PRINCESS you could find more saussages but only a Hot Dog... and for Muslims and others: Chicken Breast...



Auf der ROYAL PRINCESS gab es noch mehr Würste, als bloß einen Hot Dog... und für Moslems und andere: Hühnerbrust...
