CELEBRITY EQUINOX: Ein gutes neues Jahr / A Happy New Year

Sicherlich wäre es aufregend heute in New York zu sein, und vielleicht am 02.01.2010 noch eine Nacht auf der NORWEGIAN GEM zu verbringen. Aber die Chance haben wir nun mal verpasst, weil man irgendwo noch realistisch bleiben muss: Nicht jede Fahrt, die irgendwie passt, kann man leider auch wirklich dann mitnehmen. So werden wir die drei Tage vor der Abfahrt zu nutzen, um entspannt die Smokings aufzuhängen...

You cannot book all cruises which might fit around your original itinerary. So we take the last three days before departure to do relaxed work: like preparing our tuxedos...

... das Packen vorzubereiten und leider auch schon an die Zeit zu denken, nach der Kreuzfahrt.

Wie bekommen wir heil den Eiswein (für meinen persönlichen Wäscheservice) und die ganze Schokolade auf das Schiff? Irgendwann hatte ich etwas sehr gutes in einem Forum gelesen: Wer überdurchschnittlich gut zu uns ist: neben etwas Extra-Trinkgeld auch ein bißchen Schokolade, was ja nicht per Western Union nach Hause geschickt werden kann (leider finde ich den tollen Beitrag nicht mehr, um einen Link zu schalten):

Extra Trinkgeld für diejenigen, die akut eine Extra Meile laufen... und wer am Schluss einen Marathon gelaufen ist und super nett, freundlich und zuvorkommend ist, bekommt auch etwas für den persönlichen Genuss. Sicherheitshalber nehmen wir dieses Mal etwas mehr mit. Ich gehe mal nicht davon aus, dass es wieder so wird, wie bei der CENTURY, dass nur die Leute vom Cova Café nett sind. Mal gucken, wie nett die übrigen Mitreisenden sind... vielleicht bekommen die ja auch noch etwas ab.

Then I read a good posting in one German cruiser's forum: who was over the average good does not get some extra tipping but also some chocolate which you cannot send home by Western Union (Unfortunately I cannot find the original posting anymore):

Extra tipping for those who are running extra miles. And for those who did a marathon and being all the time great at the end of the cruise some chocolate as well for their personal pleasure. To be on the safe side we took a little more with us. I do not expect this time that only the crew from Cova Café like on the CENTURY will be the only nice crew members on board. Let's see how nice the cruise-mates are... maybe they deserve some as well...

Of course I need to pack all my cruise shirts... to show that you know other lines... We got some lanyards from MSC so that we should not do advertising for NCL while we were on board...



Natürlich muss die Cruise Garderobe eingepackt werden... Flagge zeigen, dass man auch andere kennt... Immerhin haben wir ja damals bei MSC die Lanyards bekommen, damit wir nicht weiter Werbung für NCL an Bord laufen...

Große Aufregung herrscht immer noch zum Thema Unterwasseraufnahmen.

The suggested test with the cotton was done in our bidet. To see any kind of leakage if you press the bag down the water line it was good enough.



Den vorgeschlagenen Test mit Watte habe ich im Bidet durchgeführt. Um zu sehen, ob es dicht ist und was passiert, wenn man alles nach unten drückt, hat es ja gereicht.

Die 16-Tages-Aussicht von unserer Abfahrt bis zur Ankunft:

Mal gucken, ob wir am Sonntag bei Schnee wegkommen... Der Rest schaut gut aus. Cozumel kann sich ja noch ein paar lang überlegen, ob es wirklich regnen soll...

By the way: Happy New Year to everybody. We had the firework on TV: Thanks to Romance TV (Pay-TV) we had six hours of the German version of Love Boat. They scheduled the broadcast this way that few minutes before midnight we had the scene from New Year's Eve at the beach of Rio de Janeiro with the firework. There could not be a more perfect entry into a cruise vacation.



Übrigens noch allen ein gutes neues Jahr. Das Feuerwerk haben wir im Fernsehen genossen: Dank Romance TV (im Sky Paket) gab es über sechs Stunden lang ZDF-Traumschiff (leider auch zwei Folgen als Kreuzfahrt ins Glück - das wir uns nicht angesehen haben). Die Ausstrahlung war so getaktet, dass kurz vor Mitternacht die Szene am Strand von Rio de Janeiro mit dem Silvesterfeuerwerk kam. Eine perfektere Einstimmung gibt es nicht.
