Seetag/Day at Sea 07 auf der/on CELEBRITY INFINITY

Zum Glück wieder ein Seetag und leider auch der letzte. Nach meinen Maßstäben läuft alles super!



Luckily, it was another day at sea, and unfortunately, it was also the last. By my standards, everything is going great!



Als Select Mitglieder sind wir auf die Backstage Tour eingeladen. Die Sänger und Tänzer haben ja später noch zwei Shows. Sie müssen uns heute Morgen führen. Es ist wirklich sehr nett organisiert: ein Glas Sekt oder Orangensaft und eine Fragen und Antworten-Runde und dann geht es los: "There is no business like show business".



As select members, we are invited to participate in the Backstage Tour. The singers and dancers have two more shows later. They had to guide us this morning. It's really very nicely organized: a glass of champagne or orange juice, a question-and-answer session, and then it starts: "There is no business like show business."

Anggie is working at the ice cream counter. When I ask if I could have a freshly baked waffle without ice cream - straight out of the waffle iron - she says: "exceptionally." But they also smell so good. The alternative: I would have waited until she cleared the tables and baked myself a waffle. It's just like this: how can you be so naughty and bake them in public to seduce the guests? Francois is playing the piano again. Fantastique!



Anggie ist arbeitet an der Eisausgabe. Als ich frage, ob ich eine frisch-gebackene Waffel ohne Eis haben könnte - ganz frisch aus dem Wafflneisen - sagt sie: "ausnahmsweise". Aber sie duften auch so gut. Die Alternative: ich hätte gewartet, bis dass sie Tische abräumt, dann hätte ich mir eine Waffel selbst gebacken. Es ist einfach so: wie kann man nur so boßhaft sein und sie hier in der Öffentlichkeit backen, um die Gäste zu verführen. Francois spielt wieder auf dem Klavier. Fantastique!

Beim Macarena-Tanz weiß ich nicht, ob ich lachen oder weinen soll. Aber ich habe es damals auf der CELEBRITY EQUINOX 2010 auch mitgemacht: damals allerdings zu Kid Rock's "All Summer Long".

I'll see what's available for lunch at the Oceanview Café. Apparently, they still have Pittahaya there, so I don't have to feel guilty. They also have even more exotic fruits there.



Ich gehe mal gucken, was es mittags im Oceanview Café gibt. Ich stelle fest, anscheinend haben sie noch Pittahaya da und so muss ich kein schlechtes Gewissen haben. Sie noch mehr exotische Früchte da.









Da ich unter der Woche bei der Arbeitsagentur esse und dort Selbstbedienung ist, freue ich eben über Bedienung im Hauptrestaurant. Die Nudeln waren mir zu ölig, also bekomme ich noch ein Stück Spare-Ribs. Nicht wie damals auf der CELEBRITY EQUINOX 2010: "Ich gehe jetzt noch einmal in die Galley. Es ist Ihre letzte Chance sich noch umzuentscheiden!" - bevor ich überhaupt probieren konnte, wie es mir schmeckt - so schnell habe ich noch nie den Maître D' gesprochen. So etwas habe ich hier an Bord der CELEBRITY INFINITY überhaupt nicht erlebt. Wenn sie gemerkt haben, dass es nicht so mein Fall war, haben sie immer sofort gefragt, ob sie mir etwas anderes bringen sollen. Die Kellner haben uns immer so fantastisch und zuvorkommend bedient: wir hätten sogar Brot und Wasser akzeptiert, wenn es nichts mehr gegeben hätte.



Since I eat at the employment agency during the week and it's self-service, I'm happy about the service in the main restaurant. The noodles were too oily for me, so I got another piece of spare ribs. Not like back then on CELEBRITY EQUINOX 2010: "I'm going to the galley again now. It's your last chance to change your mind!" - before I could even taste how I liked it - I had never spoken to the Maître D' so quickly. I have never experienced anything like this here on board the CELEBRITY INFINITY. When they noticed it wasn't my cup of tea, they always immediately asked if they should bring me something else. The servers always served us very courteously: we would even have accepted bread and water if nothing had been left.

I could have ordered the hamburger through cabin service, but nothing was happening then, and it was very fresh.



Ich hätte ja auch den Hamburger über den Kabinenservice bestellen können, aber es war gerade nichts los und der war ja ganz frisch.



We'll be in Crete, Greece, tomorrow. I wanted to find out more and see what they could charge. But the days when supermarket brands offered perfect oils for little money in Germany are over. They probably didn't get good quality anymore.



Wir sind ja morgen in Kreta. Ich wollte mich nochmals informieren und mal sehen, was die verlangen können. Aber die Zeiten, in denen die Handelsmarken der Supermärkte sehr gute Öle für wenig Geld in Deutschland angeboten haben, sind vorbei. Sie haben wohl keine gute Qualität mehr bekommen.



Today, we are experiencing a beautiful sunset that is already looming. So get out quickly and stand on top of the deck. The show is always good, too.



Heute erleben wir einen so schönen Sonnenuntergang, der sich schon abzeichnet. Also schnell raus und oben auf dem Deck stehen. Die Show ist auch immer wieder gut.

"Star Factory" ist die 2. Production Show an Bord. Hier fülle ich wieder meine Energiereserven auf. Lewis kümmert sich um uns Premium Access Gästen und erzählt mir von seiner Heimat Zimbabwe. Ich kenne nun die Niagara Fälle. Ich kenne die Fälle von Iguazu. Sollte ich noch die die Victoria-Fälle sehen wollen, habe ich jemanden mit Insider-Kenntnissen.



"Star Factory" is the 2nd production show on board. Here, I fill up my energy reserves again. Lewis looks after us Premium Access guests and tells me about his home country of Zimbabwe. I now know Niagara Falls. I know the Falls of Iguazu. If I still want to see Victoria Falls, I have someone with insider knowledge.

A classic meal for a gala evening! Lobster, Beef Wellington. If I order Wellington beef first and then the lobster, do I have to pay the additional fee? They laugh and ask if I want some surf and turf - and I get it without charge. There is also Baked Alaska. Vanessa helped with the initial supply of drinks at Qsine yesterday. She knew that I liked the Virgin Mary but without any seasoning. At first, they added more seasoning, which was too spicy for me. When I asked, they explained that it was a ready mix and that they had omitted the drops of Tabasco. Again, if they bother making us a great meal, we should show them with our suit.



Ein klassisches Essen für einen Galaabend! Hummer, Beef Wellington. Ich frage, wenn ich zunächst das Beef Wellington bestelle und dann den Hummer: muss ich dann die Zusatzgebühr bezahlen? Sie lachen und fragen nach, ob ich Surf und Turf will - und ich bekomme es ohne Berechnung. Es gibt auch Baked Alaska. Vanessa hat gestern im Qsine bei der Erstversorgung mit Getränken geholfen. Sie wusste, dass ich gerne Virgin Mary mag, allerdings, ohne nachzuwürzen. Anfangs haben sie nachgewürzt und dann war es mir zu scharf. Als ich nachfrage, erklärt man mir, dass es ein Ready-Mix ist und sie auf die Tropfen Tabasco zu verzichten. Nochmals: wenn die sich die Mühe machen, uns ein supertolles Essen zu machen, können wir denen es auch mit unserem Anzug zeigen.
