Wir werden mitten in der Nacht von der MSC SEAVIEW überholt. Wir kennen das Schiff von unserer MSC SEAVIEW 2018-Reise.

Too bad: ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS is in port ahead of us. On board: Raoul Fiebig from the German forum kreuzfahrten-treff.de and Sonnendeck Seereisen cruise travel agency. I thought I had him in the photos, but later I think it's probably not in the pictures.

I signed up for the briefing and thanked everyone from the breakfast service. I hope it was enough for everyone. I was counting on 25. Riva and Oscar also come to breakfast at the same time, so we still have time to say goodbye to them. Thanks again to Ramazan, Marine, and Olena on behalf of everyone from Opus Restaurant. We really had a good time here at Opus main restaurant. Everything is fine here, and I'm looking forward to my next meal on board a Celebrity ship.



Ich habe mich zum Briefing angemeldet und mich bei allen vom Frühstücksservice zu bedanken. Ich hoffe, dass es für alle gereicht hat. Ich hatte mit 25 gerechnet. Zufällig kommen auch Riva und Oscar zur gleichen Zeit zum Frühstück und so haben wir auch noch Zeit, uns von ihnen zu verabschieden. Nochmals Danke an Ramazan, Marine und Olena stellvertretend für alle aus dem Opus Restaurant. Wir hatten hier wirklich eine gute Zeit im Opus Hauptrestaurant. Hier ist alles wieder gut und ich freue mich auf mein nächstes Essen an Bord eines Celebrity Schiffs.

Als letztes Schiff kommt noch die COSTA TOSCANA rein. Das 18. Kreuzfahrtschiff, das ich neben der CELEBRITY REFLECTION sehe. Bei unserer Reise auf der QUEEN VICTORIA im Oktober wird es "traurig". Wir sind oft in den norwegischen Häfen die einzigen. Vielleicht sehen wir zumindest die Schiffe von Hurtigruten und Havila.



COSTA TOSCANA is the last ship to come in and the 18th cruise ship I see next to CELEBRITY REFLECTION. Our trip on the QUEEN VICTORIA in October will be "sad". We are often the only ones in Norwegian ports, and at least we might see the ships of Hurtigruten and Havila.

Even in the bathroom of a standard balcony cabin, everything is fine again: in addition to the soap, I was given shower gel without any arguments. I leave the ship with a negative result (and remain negative after the trip - regarding Covid-19). We didn't use the minibar in the cabin.



Auch im Badezimmer einer normalen Balkonkabine ist wieder alles in Ordnung: ich habe neben der Seife, ohne Diskussionen, Duschgel bekommen. Ich verlasse das Schiff mit negativem Ergebnis (und ich bleibe auch nach der Reise negativ - in Sachen Covid-19). Die Minibar in der Kabine haben wir nicht genutzt.





Heute steht die maltesische Flagge richtig schön im Wind. Gleichzeitig ist Nationalfeiertag in den USA. Schon sind sie dabei die Balkone für die nächsten Gäste sauber zu machen.

Ausschiffung. Wir liegen vor dem Zeitplan. Wir hätten noch eine halbe Stunde länger drin bleiben sollen. Am Terminal 25 ist einfach alles viel zu eng, um draußen zu warten. Vor dem Terminal treffen wir noch Chad und Ashley wieder, die wir vom Chef's Table kennen. Sie bleiben noch ein paar Tage hier.



Disembarkation. We're ahead of schedule and should have stayed there for half an hour longer, and everything at Terminal 25 is just way too small to wait outside. In front of the terminal, we meet Chad and Ashley again, whom we know from Chef's Table. They're staying here for a few more days.







Endlich lerne ich Luca von NCC Airport persönlich kennen, der heute selbst fährt. Er kommt etwas zu spät, weil wir im "Lumpensammler" (letzte Fahrmöglichkeit) mitfahren. So mussten zunächst noch die letzten Gäste der ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS eingesammelt werden, bevor wir abgeholt werden. Ich frage ihn, dass wir normalerweise ja von denen eine SMS und eine Mail gewohnt sind, damit wir wissen, wer und wann kommt, aber sie haben eine neue Buchungssoftware, und die beiden Funktionen laufen noch nicht so, wie sie sollten. Er verspricht, dass wir es beim nächsten Mal sicherlich wieder erleben werden.



I finally got to know Luca from NCC Airport, who is driving himself today. He's a little late because we're riding in the "rag collector" (last option). So first, the last guests of ODYSSEY OF THE SEAS had to be collected before we were picked up. I asked him that we're generally used to getting texting and emailing from them so we know who's coming and when, but they have a new booking software, and the two functions aren't working as they should. He promises that we will surely experience it again next time.





We're lucky: although initially a rejection from Lufthansa our bid for an upgrades, we were accepted. So we are glad we can use the Fast Lane in the airport, but everything is stress-free here: you can leave all electronic devices and liquids in your bag, and you don't have to unpack anything. The Star Alliance Lounge is top-notch with a great food offering. Since our flight is delayed by 2:20 hours, we are glad we can wait here. In between, I go to Venchi and also buy something for the team in the lounge, who had to put up with us for so long: about five hours. On the way to the exit, see that there is now also Eataly in the transit area.



Wir haben Glück: obwohl zunächst eine Absage von Lufthansa, dass wir keine Upgrades ersteigert haben und dann kam doch noch eine Zusage. So sind wir froh, dass wir die Fast Lane im Flughafen nutzen können, aber hier läuft alles sehr stressfrei: man kann alle elektronischen Geräte und Flüssigkeiten in der Tasche lassen und muss nichts auspacken. Die Star Alliance Lounge ist spitzenmäßig mit einem tollen Essensangebot. Da unser Flug 2:20 Stunden Verspätung hat, sind wir froh, dass wir hier warten können. Zwischendurch gehe ich zu Venchi und kaufe auch etwas für das Team in der Lounge, die uns so lange ertragen mussten: ca. fünf Stunden. Auf dem Weg zum Ausgang sehe, dass es jetzt auch Eataly im Transitbereich gibt.

Der Rückflug mit einer sehr freundlichen Crew und leckeres Essen: als "Frankfurter" freuen wir uns über Grüße Soße. Also echt "Tasting Heimat".

And at home: what conclusion remains? We have now paid 120.30 USD/night*person for the rear balcony stateroom, including service charges, beverage package, internet, and 100 USD OBC. This sum consists of a 900 USD credit from the Covid-19-related cancellation of the CELEBRITY CONSTELLATION 2020 and a 500 USD bid for the aft balcony stateroom. For the seven nights in the front outside cabin on the CELEBRITY INFINITY, we would have paid 200.43 USD/night*person (incl. service charges, drinks package, internet). We wouldn't have gone for that. But with the 900 USD credit, it was 136.15 USD/night*person in the rear outside the cabin. And with the lift and shift, then just 120.30 USD/night*person. As far as I'm concerned, Celebrity can cancel and rebook even more cruises: The main thing is Celebrity - even if we already knew all the ports except for Kotor. We are also lucky for the CELEBRITY INFINITY 2024: 134.62 USD/night*person in the front outside cabin (incl. service charges, drinks package, internet). Plus, 575 USD OBC if we were to sail in 2024. So let the next Lift and Shift offer come!!! We were pleased with the drinks package: we got bottled still water and specialty coffees. So a drink package we could live with. And the internet was better than expected, and a few days away from the company without a VPN did me good. Only the uploads on sea days were more cumbersome but possible. There are only two reasons for complaints: 1. There was no dragon fruit on board and 2. There were cherries on board only once. Anyone who knows me knows that this is actually a compliment. I bought a dragon fruit and some cherries from home and used them to extend my trip. So: All's well that ends well! I'm looking forward to the next trip with Celebrity.



Und zu Hause: welches Fazit bleibt? Wir haben jetzt für die Heckbalkonkabine 120,30 USD/Nacht*Person inkl. Service Charges, Getränkepaket, Internet und 100 USD OBC bezahlt. Diese Summe setzt sich zusammen aus 900 USD Guthaben aus der Covid-19-bedingten Absage der CELEBRITY CONSTELLATION 2020 und 500 USD Gebot für Heckbalkonkabine. Für die 7 Nächte in der Frontaußenkabine auf der CELEBRITY INFINITY hätten wir 200,43 USD/Nacht*Person bezahlt (inkl. Service Charges, Getränkepaket, Internet). Dafür wären wir nicht gefahren. Aber durch die 900 USD Guthaben waren es dann 136,15 USD/Nacht*Person in der Heckaußenkabine. Und durch das Lift and Shift dann eben 120,30 USD/Nacht*Person. Also von mir aus kann Celebrity gerne noch mehr Kreuzfahrten absagen und umbuchen: Hauptsache Celebrity - auch wenn wir bis auf Kotor bereits alle Häfen kannten. Für die CELEBRITY INFINITY 2024 haben wir auch Glück: 134,62 USD/Nacht*Person in der Frontaußenkabine (inkl. Service Charges, Getränkepaket, Internet). Plus 575 USD OBC, wenn wir 2024 fahren sollten. Also lasst das nächste Lift and Shift Angebot kommen!!! Mit dem Getränkepaket konnten wir sehr gut leben: wir bekamen stilles Wasser in Flaschen und die Kaffeespezialitäten. Also ein Getränkepaket mit dem wir leben konnten. Und das Internet lief besser als erwartet und ein paar Tage Abstand zur Firma ohne VPN taten gut. Nur die Uploads an den Seetagen waren umständlicher, aber möglich. Es gibt nur zwei Gründe für Beschwerden: 1. Es gab keine Pittahaya an Bord und 2. Es gab nur einmal Kirschen an Bord. Wer mich kennt, weiß dass das eigentlich ein Lob ist. Ich habe zu Hause eine Pittahaya und ein paar Kirschen gekauft und damit meine Reise verlängert. Also: Ende gut, alles gut! Ich freue mich auf die nächste Reise mit Celebrity.
