We look on our balcony — a little soot on the towels. And I watch how everything is cleaned up upstairs.



Wir gucken auf unserem Balkon. Ein klein bisschen Ruß auf den Handtüchern. Und ich gucke zu, wie oben alles schön sauber gemacht wird.









Immer noch nicht positiv. Heute muss ich mal ein Poloshirt von der Konkurrenz tragen: Erinnerungen an die OCEAN PRINCESS 2010 und OCEAN PRINCESS 2015 kommen wieder.

Wir probieren mal ein paar neue Sachen später im Opus Hauptrestaurant aus.

Es gibt hier einen Euro-Geldautomaten, der durch eine US-Bank betrieben wird. Sehr gut: man sieht immer sofort den nächsten Fahrstuhl. Ich muss aber sagen: bislang kenne ich keine bessere Fahrstuhlsteuerung als hier. Das Bauschild von der Meyer Werft: 2012 - also vor zehn Jahren.



A US bank operates a Euro ATM here. Very good: you can always see the next elevator immediately. But I have to say: I haven't found any better elevator control than here — the construction sign from Meyer Shipyard, Germany: 2012 - ten years ago.

The CELEBRITY CONSTELLATION is in port. Shouldn't she be in Tampa? That's why our trip from Dubai, U.A.E., to Piraeus, Greece, in 2021 wasn't canceled because it was supposed to start from there.



Im Hafen liegt die CELEBRITY CONSTELLATION. Sollte sie nicht in Tampa sein? Wurde deswegen unsere Fahrt von Dubai nach Piräus 2021 damals nicht abgesagt, weil sie von dort starten sollte.

Wir fahren in den Industriehafen rein.

Back then, with the OCEAN PRINCESS 2010, you could moor directly in the city and walk into the city.



Damals mit der OCEAN PRINCESS 2010 konnten direkt in der Stadt anlegen und zu Fuß in die Stadt gehen.

Irgendwie ist es draußen zu heiß und schwül und so essen wir im Oceanview Café. Hier gibt es auch italienische Gerichte im Angebot. Aber eben nur hier und nichts im Hauptrestaurant. Ein kleines Angebot hält auch das SpaCafé bereit. Aber das Angebot hat keine Chance gegen Porchetta!



Somehow it's too hot and humid outside, so we eat at the Oceanview Café. Italian dishes are also available here. But only here and nothing in the main restaurant. The SpaCafé also has a small offer. But the selection doesn't stand a chance against Porchetta!

We drive into town for a short time and therefore have to read up on what we must consider.

Although the ride is free, we have to get a ticket. We will be dropped off at Piazza del Municipio. Each ship has its dedicated shuttle buses.



Obwohl die Mitfahrt kostenlos ist, müssen wir ein Ticket uns holen. Wir werden am Piazza del Municipio abgesetzt. Jedes Schiff hat seine eigenen Shuttlebusse.

Wir erinnern uns an den Kochkurs bei Giuseppina in Certaldo.

Wenn das Wetter "besser" gewesen wäre, wäre ich auch gerne wieder nach Cinque Terre gefahren, wie damals auf der OCEAN PRINCESS 2010. Deswegen wäre für uns La Spezia besser gewesen.



If the weather had been "better", I would have gladly gone to the Cinque Terre again, as I did at the OCEAN PRINCESS 2010. That's why La Spezia would have been better for us.

It is only two blocks from the shuttle bus stop to the Cattedrale di San Francesco. We're looking for an ATM and another pastry shop. But unfortunately, Google isn't right: today on Sunday the pastry shop that we went to is closed.



Von der Haltestelle des Shuttlebusses bis zur Cattedrale di San Francesco sind es nur zwei Blocks. Wir suchen einen Geldautomaten und noch eine Konditorei. Aber leider Google nicht Recht: heute am Sonntag ist die Konditorei geschlossen, die wir angesteuert haben.







We wouldn't have liked the closed pastry shop anyway. And so we have to keep looking and find Cairoli behind the cathedral. It suits our taste exactly. We treat ourselves to something here, but we also take something with us for the crew: for our cabin stewards - i.e., for all three, whom we always meet on the way to the elevator and who are friendly to us, and also for the people from security. They were never able to go into town and were always very nice to us. We also gave a cake package to them.



Die geschlossene Konditorei hätte uns sowieso nicht so gefallen. Und so müssen wir weitersuchen und finden Cairoli hinter der Kathedrale. Sie entspricht genau unserem Geschmack. Wir gönnen uns hier etwas aber wir nehmen auch für die Crew etwas mit: für unsere Kabinenstewards - also für alle drei, denen wir immer auf dem Weg zum Fahrstuhl begegnen und immer freundlich zu uns sind und auch für die Leute vom Sicherheitsdienst. Sie konnten ja nie in die Stadt und waren immer sehr nett zu uns. Auch bei denen geben wir ein Kuchenpaket ab.

Da das Schiff noch sehr leer ist, weil viele nach in Florenz sind, gehe ich ins Solarium, um hier ein wenig zu schwimmen.

We're going to the second production show, "Elysium". Kelsey is the vocal captain. The story is pretty dark. Nevertheless: Izzy's singing in her role as Queen touched me very much: "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane or Lily Allen. I've listened to Lily Allen's version many times since then and can't decide which version is better: Izzy's or Lily Allen's. Both are equally beautiful. But as part of the storyline, I was touched when Izzy made Rhianna laugh, who was injured in the storyline. Another version also touched me: "The Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel. Kelsey sang the song so dramatically that you suffered. This time, too, the artists rounded off the show and beautifully underlined the plot. Again, this show is terrific. By the way: Manuel specifically asked us to take photos or film and tell the whole world how great the shows on board are. Not that nonsense like NCL, who are afraid RCI or others might copy their shows and attack photographers with laser pointers during the show. NCL believes they are as good as Celebrity and could charge just as much money. NORWEGIAN DREAM. But the ship is long gone. We were on the last trip, NORWEGIAN DREAM 2008.



Wir gehen in die zweite Production-Show "Elysium". Kelsey ist Vocal Captain. Eigentlich ist die Geschichte ziemlich düster. Nichts desto trotz: der Gesang von Izzy in ihrer Rolle als Königin hat mich sehr berührt: "Somewhere Only We Know" von Keane bzw. Lily Allen. Ich habe mir oft danach die Fassung von Lily Allen angehört und kann mich nicht entscheiden, welche Version besser ist: Izzys oder Lily Allens. Beide sind gleich schön. Aber als Izzy im Rahmen der Handlung Rhianna zum Lachen brachte, die sich in der Handlung verletzt hatte, wurde ich irgendwie sehr berührt. Eine andere Fassung hat mich ebenfalls sehr berührt: "The Sound of Silence" von Simon and Garfunkel. Das Lied hat Kelsey so dramatisch gesungen, dass man richtig mitgelitten hatte. Auch dieses Mal haben die Artisten die Show abgerundet und haben die Handlung schön unterstrichen. Auch diese Show ist wieder sehr gut. Übrigens: Manuel hat uns ausdrücklich aufgefordert, dass wir fotografieren oder filmen sollten, und der ganzen Welt erzählen sollten, wie toll die Shows an Bord sind. Nicht dieser Blödsinn wie bei NCL, die Angst haben, dass RCI oder andere ihre Shows kopieren könnten und Fotografen während der Show mit Laserpointern angreifen. NCL glaubt ja neuerdings, dass sie so gut wie Celebrity sind und genauso viel Geld verlangen könnten. NORWEGIAN DREAM. Aber das Schiff gibt es ja schon lange nicht mehr. Wir waren ja auf der letzten Reise NORWEGIAN DREAM 2008.

Auf dem Weg ins Restaurant machen wir noch ein Selfie mit Branden und James. Den USB Stick konnte ich heute kaufen.

It's going to be the last dinner. There are my favorite fried onions that I haven't had in years at Cagney's Steakhouse at NCL. I ask for an extra portion of fried onions: no problem. Unfortunately, we cannot say goodbye to Tainara because she had to be isolated. So tonight, we have Kadek as our busboy. We also say goodbye to sommelier Jennet: although we didn't drink wine, she always took the orders and ensured I got everything. Assistant Maître D' Maruk made sure they always served us well.



Es geht zum letzten Abendessen. Es gibt meine Lieblingsröstzwiebeln, die ich schon seit Jahren im Cagney's Steakhouse bei NCL nicht mehr bekommen habe. Ich frage nach einer Extraportion Röstzwiebeln: kein Problem. Leider können wir uns nicht von Tainara verabschieden, weil sie leider isoliert werden musste. So haben wir heute Abend Kadek als Hilfskellner. Wir verabschieden uns auch von Sommelier Jennet: obwohl wir keinen Wein getrunken haben, hat sie immer die Bestellungen aufgenommen und dafür gesorgt, dass ich alles bekommen habe. Assistent Maître D' Maruk hat dafür gesorgt, dass wir immer gut bedient wurden.

Wir gehen ins Foyer. Hier singt nochmals Stephen Berry. Er ist sehr beliebt. Nur haben wir irgendwie die erste Show verpasst. Ich kann nur nichts in den Tagesprogrammen finden. Er ist wohl für Branden und James beim 1. Versuch kurzfristig eingesprungen, als das Cello noch nicht an Bord war. Die Frauen sind begeistert von diesem Tenor und er ist ein absoluter Womanizer, der versteht den Frauen die Augen zu verdrehen.



We go to the foyer. Here Stephen Berry sings again. He's very popular. We missed the first show, and I can't find anything in the daily programs. He must have stood in for Branden and James on the first try when the cello wasn't on board yet. The women are enthusiastic about this tenor, and he is an absolute womanizer who knows how to roll women's eyes.

After that, I have the chance to say goodbye to Kelsey and get to know Izzy and Rhianna personally. Izzy looked like Queen Elsa from "Frozen" to me on stage. I would love to hear her sing "Let it go".



Danach habe ich die Chance mich nochmals von Kelsey zu verabschieden und lerne auch Izzy und Rhianna persönlich kennen. Izzy wirkte auf der Bühne auf mich wie Königin Elsa aus "Frozen - Die Eiskönigin". Ich würde sie ja so gerne mal "Let it go" singen hören.

Noch ein Gruppen-Selfie noch mit Jas, Christian, Stephen Berry und leider einen Künstler, dessen Name ich mir nicht gemerkt habe - Sorry.

Christian was Kelsey's singing partner on stage. Unfortunately, Izzy's singing partner is omitted here. A lovely evening of a very nice trip comes to an end. But they make it difficult for us to get off the ship again. But the next trip with Celebrity will not take place in 16 years, but in two years: CELEBRITY INFINITY to Israel and Egypt with an overnight stay in Ashdod, so that you can also spend the night in Jerusalem. One of the best cruises we've been on is ending.



Christian war der Gesangspartner von Kelsey auf der Bühne. Der Gesangspartner von Izzy ist hier leider nicht mit dabei. Ein sehr schöner Abend einer sehr schönen Reise geht zu Ende. Sie machen es uns aber wirklich schwer, das Schiff wieder zu verlassen. Aber die nächste Reise mit Celebrity findet nicht in 16 Jahren, sondern in zwei Jahren: CELEBRITY INFINITY nach Israel und Ägypten mit Übernacht in Ashdod, so dass man Übernacht auch in Jerusalem verbringen kann. Eine der besten Kreuzfahrten, die wir mitgemacht haben, geht zu Ende.
